The company Slovnaft, a.s. began construction of a new unit for the production of polyethylene LDPE4 . Its construction is part of the investment in basic plastics, which should be in 2015 totaled more than 300 million euros . Cost of construction itself LDPE4 line to build the line itself while LDPE4 exceed 200 million euros . The company will finance investments both from its own resources , both from a loan from the EBRD and commercial loans .
LDPE4 new unit will replace older lines 7 and will produce low density polyethylene , which is the basis for a wide range of products , such as for food and agricultural films , toys , insulation and other materials used in construction. After starting a new production line will increase annual production capacity polyethylene Slovnaft 40,000 tons to 220,000 tons .

The new production unit will be built according to the latest license using the best available technology . Compared to the current production of polyethylene significantly changes the quality types produced at significantly lower energy consumption . In the area of environmental protection will be significantly reduced emissions of volatile compounds in accordance with the legislation in force since 2016.

Block 72 is changing its face

The main building contractor has implemented two-thirds of engineering activities : specification issued and approved equipment and then ordered key equipment . Continue to prepare a detailed project documentation .

Has already started and the mere construction of a new production unit , and preparation of area by removing the top layer of soil. Are built almost all the footings below the pipe bridges , as well as under a large part of the technology . Construction electrical, and control room has already reached 1 floor . Due to the size began the degassing assembly forces and the concrete structure . Two-thirds are built the foundations heart – reactor technology . It remains to establish the last part of the base and then the cell was sealed reactor building concrete walls that protect the surrounding buildings in the event of a leak of ethylene . Work done represent about 10 % of the total work . Starting LDPE4 into commercial operation is scheduled for autumn 2015.
